Police have found two bodies they believe to be those of missing former Dutch national volleyball star Ingrid Visser and her partner, Lodewijk Severein, the Interior Ministry said May 27, 2013.
Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the apparent killing of the couple.
The bodies were found in a lemon grove Sunday, May 26, 2013 and "all signs indicated" they are those of Visser, 35, and her partner, Severein, 57, Joaquin Bascunana, an Interior Ministry official in the southern Murcia region of Spain, said. The corpses were buried at a shallow depth and Bascunana said forensic tests were continuing.
There were no immediate details on the cause of death.
The couple was last seen May 13, 2013 when they left a hotel in Murcia, Spain. A doctor with whom they had an appointment the next day notified police when they failed to appear.
