The animals were temporarily removed earlier this year to protect them from a bird flu outbreak in wild birds that could fly near the zoo.
Vistors at the Philadelphia Zoo can see the sheep, alpaca and other animals, but noticeably absent are the exotic birds.
The dazzling display is called LumiNature and it opens to visitors Thursday night.

Every day at 2 p.m., the zoo will introduce you to different animals and take you behind the scenes.
The cub was born to 7-year-old Kayla and 6-year-old Bhalu on Dec. 11.
It offers visitors tons of Halloween activities, including a graveyard showcasing extinct animals and animals they are trying to save from extinction.
In total, the experience will feature more than 600,000 lights, six-and-a-half miles of power cords, 500 illuminated flamingos, 200 illuminated penguins and much more.
The zoo has done extensive work with species that are found in the thick of the fire, like jaguars and pumas.
The zoo celebrated Amani's third birthday.
Many visitors wished Amani happy birthday and made cards, as the birthday girl enjoyed an ice cake with members of her troop.
The aerial structure gives the primates a new spot to have fun or just relax.
The course is 25 minutes of pure fun.
