Forget everything about what happened in the earlier meeting between the Eagles and Cowboys. The Eagles were in the midst of a quarterback revolving door between Nick Foles and Mike Vick and had not quite found their offensive identity. That has changed now. The Eagles offense is firing on all cylinders and should be able to play well against this Dallas defense that really struggles to stop much of anything.
The last time the Eagles won 10 games was in 2010, which also marks the last time they won the NFC East title. The chances that the Eagles break the three-year drought of double-figure victories in a season and a division crown just became better with the news Dallas Cowboys starting quarterback Tony Romo could be out for the season with a back injury.
Chip Kelly received an impromptu visit from Santa Claus, an early Christmas wish to beat the Dallas Cowboys and the Eagles coach also spoke about the upcoming challenge of facing Tony Romo this Sunday for the NFC East title during his day-after press conference at the NovaCare Complex.
The game he played against the Bears was, as far as I can see, the best game he's played all year.
Yes, that is 94WIP's Howard Eskin dressed as Santa Claus.
Eagles fans say they were most impressed by the defense in the team's big win over the Bears.
Game tickets range from $72 for standing room, to more than $21,000 for the field level. Then there's airfare and hotel.
Fans chant "we want Dallas" at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday night.
Since he was hired in January to coach the Philadelphia Eagles, Chip Kelly has done what can do to bond with Philadelphia fans. From visiting Wing Bowl, to Sunday night's "we're from Philadelphia, we fight," quote after the win over the Vikings.
Win or lose, Chip Kelly has earned our trust.
Outside of his seven-touchdown performance in Oakland earlier this season, this may have been the best game Nick Foles has had all season. Foles completed 21 of 25 passes for 230 yards and a pair of touchdowns, both coming in the first quarter as the Eagles jumped out on top of the Bears from the start.
The Eagles got things right, Kelly made sure of that, in a thoroughly dominating 54-11 victory over the Bears.
Next weeks Eagles/Cowboys game, with the winner becoming NFC East champions, has been flexed to 8:30 p.m.
Before Sunday's game, fans were fired up, despite knowing The Eagles have to play the Cowboys next week for the NFC East Championship.
