What Are These Strange Creatures Washing Ashore In California?
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (CBS)—Strange creatures are washing ashore in Huntington Beach, California.
The slimy little slow-moving things turned up all over the beach this week.
Beach-goers were mystified -- and grossed out.
A marine biologist at California State University, Long Beach says they are a species of "sea cucumber," and washed ashore by last weekend's storms.
He says they're harmless.
