Week 6 DFS Advice
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It's Deflategate week as the New England Patriots travel to Indianapolis to face the Colts on Sunday Night Football, in a game projected for 55 points.
Everyone and their Bubbie will be playing Tom Brady, Dion Lewis, Julian Edelman, Rob Gronkowski and the Patriots. In the big guaranteed prize pool (GPP) tournaments, I say go the other way. Don't sleep on the Colts!
Andrew Porter on the Pulse Of Philly's DFS Podcast:
QB Plays (Price: DraftKings / FanDuel)
Andrew Luck vs. NE (7600/8600): After missing the last two games, Luck is expected to start on Sunday night. As bad as the Patriots "want to run up the score," the Colts want revenge. Remember, they're the team that got smoked. Luck is at home and him and the Colts have something to prove after a slow start.
Colin Kaepernick vs. BAL (5000/7300): I know, he's Colin Kaepernick, but if you want take a gamble and save money at the QB position (a strategy that has paid off for many through the first five weeks), Kaep is your guy this week.
Here me out:
- $5,000 on DraftKings! That's literally as low as it gets.
- The Ravens pass defense is atrocious (see: McCown, Josh)
- 49ers are at home and are often playing from behind
- Last week for Kaep: 23-35, 262 yards, 2 TDs, 0 TO's, 23 rushing yards
- His rushing yards week-by-week (bonus points): 41, 51, 46 (and a TD), 57, 23
RB Plays (Price: DraftKings / FanDuel)
Arian Foster at JAX (7000/8500): Foster is finally getting his legs under him and Jacksonville is giving up 31 points per game to opposing RBs (5th worst in PPR formats).
Eddie Lacy vs SD (6300/7300): Lacy is a bit underpriced against a putrid Chargers run defense at home. SD is allowing over 32 points per game to opposing RBs (3rd worst in PPR formats).
WR Plays (Price: DraftKings / FanDuel)
Brandon Marshall vs WAS (7100/8000): Marshall is a target monster with an incredibly safe floor and tremendous ceiling. He has never caught less than six balls and has a 100 yards and a touchdown in three out of four games. This week, he gets the Redskins' secondary.
WR Value Plays (Price: DraftKings / FanDuel)
Donte Moncrief vs NE (5000/6200): If you're using Luck, Moncrief is your guy. Colts No. 1 WR T.Y. Hilton was added to the injury report (groin) mid week and if he can't go or isn't 100-percent, Moncrief is crazy value. Even if Hilton is fine, $5000 for Moncrief in an expected high scoring affair is too cheap to pass up.
Anquan Boldin vs BAL (4300/6500): Crazy cheap on DraftKings, and is your guy to stack with Kaepernick. A Boldin-Kaepernick stack isn't going to excite anyone, but against a bad Ravens DEF at home, it's worth the gamble.
TE Plays (Price: DraftKings / FanDuel)
Greg Olsen at SEA (5500/6300): Seattle is giving up the 5th most points to opposing tight ends. All Carolina has is Olsen. Seems like a match made in fantasy heaven, right?
Julius Thomas vs HOU (4000/5200): It's his second game back and I'm guessing he's ready to become a top-option for the Jags in the passing game. $4,000 is a nice price for a tight end with a ton of upside.
DEF Plays (Price: DraftKings / FanDuel)
New York Jets vs WAS (3100/4800): Kirk Cousins is due for a three-interception game.
Miami Dolphins at TEN (2800/4400): Everyone will be off of the Dolphins this week, but against a rookie quarterback why the heck not?
