Wednesday Evening Gardening Classes At Chanticleer
By Phran Novelli
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Weekends can be busy, but maybe you're free on a Wednesday night? Chanticleer in Wayne, a pleasure garden that's lovely to wander through from spring to fall, is hosting a Pennsylvania Horticultural Society series on Wednesday evenings from now to October.
Classes start after Chanticleer closes at 5 pm - giving you an after-hours private peek at the gardens too.
Next up on May 28th, you can learn how to garden in the shade; brightening up those dark, dry areas.
In coming weeks, classes include: creating unique trellises; learning about 'tough as nails' perennials that thrive where little else will grow; flower arranging from your own garden (and how to plan and plant for that purpose); practical tips about proper pruning (demonstrated on Chanticleer's shrubs!) and finding out how to review and renew your perennial borders in the fall.
Cost for each class is $25, or $20 for PHS members. To register for these classes with Chanticleer's talented experts, go to PennHort.net.
