Water Taxi Runs Aground In Manasquan River

POINT PLEASANT, N.J. (AP) — No injuries were reported when a water taxi carrying 22 people ran aground over a sandbar in the Manasquan River.

But authorities say it's not yet clear what caused the accident, which occurred early Sunday.

Crews from Coast Guard Station Manasquan and the Brick Township Fire Department responded to the scene and got the stranded passengers safely to shore.

A tow boat was eventually was able to move the water taxi off the sandbar.
