USDA: Eating Strawberries May Help Fight Dementia
by KYW's medical editor Dr. Brian McDonough --
There's interesting news from the Department of Agriculture. According to scientists reporting out of that office, strawberries may help protect the brain against the ravages of aging.

Of course the concern here is dementia, and according to their information, strawberries are high in polyphenols, and can have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, which are very important.
This is not the first we've heard of strawberries having these properties. This has been talked about for several years. In addition, blueberries have also been reported to have similar properties.
My take is, you can't go wrong. Strawberries and blueberries are good for you because of their antioxidant properties. Let the studies continue, and enjoy the fruit!
