by Justin Udo

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A soccer commentator for the Philadelphia Union pleads guilty to defrauding a pharmaceutical company out of nearly $500,000, and causing more than $3.5 million in damages.

On Tuesday, 44-year-old Peter Pappas, of Drexel Hill, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit health care fraud for his part in a scam that swindled reimbursements for compound medication prescriptions.

Pappas, a district sales manager for Celgene, a global bio-pharmaceutical company based out of North Jersey, says he stole more than $481,000 in the scheme.

Pappas faces a maximum of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine, or twice the gross gain or loss from the offense.

His sentencing is scheduled for October 25th.
