Trial Ordered For Montco Man Accused Of Sexting Teen Boys

MONTGOMERYVILLE, Pa. (CBS) -- A former assistant principal in the North Penn (Montgomery County) School District has been ordered to stand trial on charges that he had inappropriate sexual conversations with a pair of 13-year-old students.

Charles Hurst, of Lansdale (above), was held on two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and corruption of minors.

An agreement between the defense and the prosecution prevented a hearing of the evidence in the case, but Montgomery County assistant DA Kate McGill says the two boys were prepared to take the stand and testify:

"They would have talked about the defendant's conduct in this case, which was that he was reaching out to them, having inappropriate conversations with them, and in one of the cases he was also sending inappropriate text messages."

Prosecutors say Hurst, 37, befriended the boys while working at Pennbrook Middle School in North Wales.  They say he talked to the students about sexual acts and even gave one of the students money and gifts.

Hurst remains free on bail.  He was hired by the Lower Moreland School District over the summer but was fired when the charges came to light.
