Restaurateurs Valerie Safran and Chef Marcie Turney bring Mexican street food to the Midtown Village at Lolita. The casual spot opened in 2004, but reopened in 2014 with a fresh look and new liquor license. The updated menu and relaxed vibe make it a great late night happy hour spot, with specials offered Monday through Thursday from 10 to 11 p.m. Enjoy drink specials like $3 Tecate, $5 house wine and $6 margaritas. If you're visiting with a group, order the "Kitchen's Koolaid" for $20. It's served in a sixth pan (a metal container used by chefs for mise en place) and serves four to five people. Food specials include two tacos for $5 (with the variety of taco changing daily), and a variety of $10 deals such as a roasted pork Cuban sandwich with fries. Also available is Lolita's version of the "Citywide Special" including a taco, a Tecate and a shot of tequila for $10.
