Luckily, it's just a short distance from Philadelphia. The restaurant is split to give guests the choice of sitting in the modern tavern serving sushi and an assortment of Pan-Asian dishes or the lively hibachi dining room. With some of the best hibachi chefs around, your meal will be as entertaining as it is appetizing. Dinners include a shrimp appetizer, soup, salad, vegetables, white rice, sherbet or ice cream and green tea, with prices typically ranging from $17.99 for the chicken to $34.99 for lobster tails. For a real treat, order the "Emperor's Hibachi Deluxe" featuring Brazilian lobster tail, filet mignon, white shrimp and sea scallops for $38.99. The fried rice side order is extra here, but it's so good that it's worth the $2.99. And if your appetite is big enough, be sure to get the Kobe slider appetizer.

Located above Dave and Buster's at Penn's Landing, this hibachi spot can be a bit hard to find due to the lack of signage. But the incredible views of the water and Ben Franklin Bridge alone make it worth the trip. Hibachi dinners include salad, shrimp appetizer, fried rice and vegetables with prices ranging from $13.95 for vegetables and $16.95 for chicken up to $49.95 for two seven-ounce lobster tails. Visit before 6:15 p.m. Sunday through Friday and before 5:45 p.m. on Saturday to take advantage of reduced early bird special prices. The most popular meal is the "Early Bird Deluxe" featuring New York strip steak, shrimp and chicken for $19.95.

Owner Takashi Yoshida opened his first Hikaru location in Society Hill in 1983, making it the first sushi bar in Philadelphia. Since then, he's expanded the business to include the Main Street Manayunk spot, which offers tableside hibachi service along with fresh sushi and other authentic Japanese dishes. Hibachi meals include the shrimp appetizer, soup, salad, vegetables and your choice of fried or white rice. Prices start at $19.95 for the chicken, but for a truly special meal, opt for the "Hikaru Platinum Dinner" -- with lobster tail, scallops, shrimp and steak -- for $49.75.

Osaka has two locations (the other in charming Chestnut Hill), but you'll have to make the trip to Lansdale if you want the full hibachi experience. Like many restaurants offering hibachi, the establishment offers two seating options so you can choose between hibachi grill tables and standard tables if you're going for sushi or other entrees. Hibachi entrees include miso soup or salad, vegetables and fried rice with prices ranging from $14 for vegetables and $18 for chicken to $34 for two lobster tails. The sushi here always receives rave reviews, so you'll want to consider ordering a roll or two as an appetizer before your hibachi meal.

Shogun Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar

Tucked away in a strip mall in Bensalem, Shogun is just minutes away from the Street Road exit off of 95. Serving a variety of dishes, the restaurant offers seating in cozy booths, at the sushi bar and at the large hibachi tables. Prices are incredibly reasonable with hibachi dinners starting at $13 for vegetable or $15 for chicken and topping out at $28 for the seafood deluxe including lobster, shrimp and scallops. All dinners are served with shrimp appetizer, soup, salad, fried rice and vegetables. To save even more, visit Monday through Thursday between 4:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. to enjoy reduced happy hour prices. Shogun is a BYOB, so be sure to bring your favorite wine if you plan to drink with your meal.
