Temple's Match Up With Notre Dame Set For Prime Time
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It's been a big couple of days for the Temple Football program. On Saturday, they kept their undefeated record intact with a 30-16 win over UCF. On Sunday, their 6-0 record, tied for the best start in team history, earned them a national ranking for the first time since being ranked in 1979.
The good fortune continued on Monday when it was announced that the Owls' Halloween match up with Notre Dame, would be a prime-time affair.
The Owls and Fighting Irish will kickoff at 8 p.m. on October 31. The game will be nationally televised and will not only be a big moment for the program, but for the entire conference. It will be the first time an American Athletic Conference Team will be a part of a prime-time full national telecast.
"This is tremendous exposure for our Temple Football program and it is well-deserved recognition for the job Matt Rhule has done with this team," Temple University Director of Athletics Dr. Patrick Kraft said in a statement. "We look forward to having the rest of the country see Temple Football play against an elite program like Notre Dame on a national stage."
