Temple Says No To Hoverboards On Campus

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - For many, hoverboards were the hot-ticket Christmas item, but one local college is saying:  not on our property.

Temple University will not allow hoverboards anywhere on campus.

In a statement, Temple cites safety concerns surrounding those two-wheeled motorized platforms.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission is currently investigating hoverboard-related fires.

Temple officials say the ban will continue unless or until they have decided adequate safety standards have been put in place.

There's no word yet on how Temple will enforce the regulation.
