Suspects Steal Register From Torresdale Wawa
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Police have one suspect in custody and are searching for two others in connection to the robbery of a convenience store in Northeast Philadelphia.
The robbery happened early Wednesday morning at the Wawa located at Frankford and Linden Avenues in the city's Torresdale section.
According to police, three suspects entered the store and demanded money. The suspects then ripped a cash register from the counter and fled the store.
Two Good Samaritans who witnessed the robbery followed the suspects. In addition, a Philadelphia police officer also gave chase and took one of the suspects into custody.
Investigators eventually recovered the register, but it was not immediately known how much money, if any, was taken.
The robbery remains under police investigation.
