Study: Marriage Is Good For The Heart

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Is marriage good for your heart? A new study says yes.

Researchers from the British Cardiovascular Society found that married people are 14 percent less likely to die from a heart attack than single people.

Married people are also likely to spend less time in the hospital.

Researchers say it could all be related to a spouse's physical and emotional support.

Additionally, researchers say the results show the need for doctors to consider the psychosocial effects of a heart attack, and consider them as a risk factor, when treating and managing the discharge of a patient.
