Study: Do The Happiest Couples Have Sex Once A Week?

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Is it true that the more sex you have the happier you will feel in your relationship?

According to a study in the journal Social, Psychological & Personality Science, sex is no longer associated with well-being at a frequency of more than once a week.

Researchers say in their first study, the association between sexual frequency and well-being was only significant for those in relationships.

However, they say in studies 2 and 3, which only included people in relationships, sexual frequency had more of a curvilinear association with relationship satisfaction.

Furthermore, relationship satisfaction mediated the link between sexual frequency and well-being.

Researchers concluded people in relationships who have sex once a week may have a greater well-being.
