Below are some helpful tips from Please Touch Museum's Retail Director, Beth Kirk, when shopping for your little ones:

(Bolded items can be found in Please Touch Museum's Kids Store)

• Tip #1 – Durability is key
When investing in new toys, think about the durability of each item and how it will hold up against serious playtime. Many fabulous toys are made with this idea in mind, such as Indestructibles from Workman Publishing ($4.95). This line of baby books lives up to its name as they won't rip or tear and are completely washable. Now babies can read the way they learn best in the infant/toddler age: by using their hands and mouths to hold, grab, chew and bend!

• Tip #2 – Choose things that make getting to the next stage more fun
Babies just LOVE the Oball from Rhino Toys. This flexible ball has 32 finger holes, making it perfect for little hands to grasp and roll, all while fine-tuning their gross motor skills. Best of all, it's only $8.99! Cars, ambulances and other rolling objects from Rubbabu by Iseo Chemdis PVT. Ltd. ($14.99 or $25) have large areas that make it easier for little ones to master grasping and maneuvering as well as the plush texture that tiny tots love.

• Tip #3 - Keep it green
No age is too young to begin taking care of our planet! The Green Ring teething ring by Begin Again ($10.99) which is made from corn starch, comforts little ones through the early stages then converts to a grab and hold toy as they grow. For hours of enjoyment AND a global message, what's better than that?

• Tip #4 - Find things that parents will also love
New parents quickly learn that kids drop things at least 100 times a day. Help mom and dad find ways to keep one step ahead with items like The Bobo Glove by Workman Publishing ($19.95) which has toys and activities attached to the glove. Genius!
