Sixers Drop To Pelicans Following All-Star Break

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Anthony Davis scored 18 of his 34 points in the first quarter and the New Orleans Pelicans beat the Philadelphia 76ers 121-114 on Friday night.

The Pelicans never trailed and built a double-digit lead on an Davis' layup near the end of the first quarter. However, Philadelphia cut a 22-point lead to 94-93 on Isaiah Canaan's 3-pointer early in the fourth quarter.

Ryan Anderson stemmed the Philadelphia run, however, scoring seven points in seven minutes to start the fourth. He ended the night with 26 points while Jrue Holiday added 24 points and 12 assists for New Orleans.

Philadelphia turned the ball over 20 times and lost for the eighth time in 10 games.

Nerlens Noel led the 76ers with 24 points and nine rebounds, while Jhalil Okafor scored 14 points and Canaan had 13.
