SEPTA Holding Lottery For Riders Using Select Trolley Routes, Norristown High Speed Line During Papal Visit

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – SEPTA says a limited number of special papal visit 3-day transit passes for travel on the Trolley routes 101/102 and the Norristown High Speed Line will be made available through an online lottery.

The lottery is scheduled for begin Wednesday, August 12 and the transit passes are $10 each.

SEPTA says, "The passes are valid from Saturday, September 26, through Monday, September 28, and are being sold via a lottery to help alleviate congestion and enhance safe travel."

SEPTA will be using the same lottery system used for for the sale of the special papal visit Regional Rail passes.

The lottery will be held over a 24-hour period. SEPTA says all valid submissions will have the same chances of winning the lottery, regardless of what time they are submitted.

SEPTA says those entering the lottery will choose up to three preferred stations from the following list:

Route 101 Trolley
-Springfield Mall
-Leamy Avenue

Route 102 Trolley
-North Street
-Clifton-Aldan

Norristown High Speed Line
-Gulph Mill Station
-Villanova Station

Customers can request up to 10 passes each day.
