Security Expert: Fallout 'Uncertain' Following Orlando Shooting
By Kim Glovas
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A global security expert says it's uncertain what the fallout will be from the tragic mass shooting in Orlando.
Jack Tomarchio served with the Office of Homeland Security with a focus on intelligence and analysis before founding the Agoge Group, which specializes in global and cyber security. He says the information available now shows that both club security and police followed protocol.
"Most clubs, I don't believe, have metal detectors. I suppose, had there been a metal detector or if they had been frisking people, they would have probably stopped him, but we don't go into restaurants in Center City or clubs anywhere where we go through those kinds of security procedures."
He cites the Aurora, Colorado theater shooting a few years ago, and says theaters did NOT make it more difficult to get in.
"The jury is still out as to what response the industry will have."
He adds his concern is the possibility of a copycat who might do this somewhere else.
