Pre-race ritual: Trying on my race day clothes and then laying everything out with the bib already attached. I need to have my food and drinks for the race already prepared the night before. Otherwise I can't sleep!

Pre-race snack: Rice cake with almond butter

Tips for new runners: Find a running buddy or team. Their support and friendship will help motivate you and keep your training honest.

Why she runs: I was the girl in high school who would be "absent" on mile day in gym class. I would have never dreamed of running for fun! After the birth of my second son, I decided I needed to get healthy and find something for me. I started a run/walk program and worked up to a few miles. Then I was introduced to a local running club. That's when I learned about the running community. I trained with them for two marathons and hopefully a third is in my future!
