Rick Santorum Joins Race For Republican Presidential Nomination

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - In Campaign 2012, a familiar name is back in the news.

Former two-term US senator Rick Santorum began his quest for the presidency in Somerset County, Pa. today, and it could be a tough ride.

Santorum, an arch-conservative, has traveled more times to Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina than any other Republican, but according to most polls he's stuck in single digits.

That could change, but he'll also have more company soon along the campaign trail.

Minnesota's Michelle Bachmann may enter next week, and the buzz of the Republicans this week is that Herman Cain, who once ran Godfather Pizza, is inching up in the polls. Cain is an electric speaker, and a lot of people thought he won the first TV debate.
