Recent College Grads Attend Job Fair At Villanova
By Kim Glovas
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- College graduates from 2008 to the present showed up at Villanova University on Monday for the Campus Philly Opportunity Fair. It's a job fair exclusively for recent college grads.
"Our mission is to attract, engage, and retain college students. We partner with 26 regional colleges and universities and the city of Philadelphia to engage them while they're here and keep them after they graduate," explains Debbie Diamond, the president of Campus Philly.
Laurie Parent just graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in finance.
"I had twenty resumes, I'm all done now," she says.
So, which companies stuck with her?
"Definitely Vanguard, TD Bank and Comcast," Parent answers.
Organizers say 800 college grads signed up before-hand for the event, and walk-ins also came out. All were armed with resumes and dreams of professional employment.
