President Trump Says He'll Deliver State Of The Union Address When Shutdown Is Over
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – President Donald Trump says he will deliver the State of the Union Address when the government shutdown is over.
Today marks day 33 of the partial shutdown.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had asked the president to delay the speech.
The president added he is not looking for an alternative venue for the State of the Union because there is no venue that can compete with the history, tradition and importance of the House Chamber.
