Preliminary Hearing For Fairmount Park Murder Suspects Set For Today

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A preliminary hearing is set to take place Wednesday for the two women charged in the murder of Toy Chandra Bryant.

Prosecutors say Shintele Smith, Shavon Armstrong and Keith Bullock tortured, then killed Bryant because the defendants believed Bryant owed them money.

The victim's body was found in Fairmount Park last month.

Officials say Smith, from the 2600 block of South Bialy Street, was charged with murder, criminal conspiracy, kidnapping, robbery, unlawful restraint and other related offenses.

Armstrong, a Wilkes Barre native, was charged with murder, criminal conspiracy, kidnapping, robbery and related charges.
