Police: Woman Forced Into Sex Act During Home Invasion In Chestnut Hill

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia Police are investigating a home invasion and sexual assault in Chestnut Hill.

It happened around 4 a.m. in the unit block of Chestnut Hill Avenue.

Police say an armed man entered the home through an unlocked door. Once inside, he made his way to the bedroom, where police say he forced a 56-year old woman to perform a sexual act on him at gunpoint while commanding her husband to stay in bed.

At one point the suspect put his gun down and the victim was able to grab it. She tried to shoot the suspect, but the weapon wouldn't fire.

Authorities say the suspect grabbed the couple's wallets, a cell phone, and keys, and then fled in their 2017 Hyundai Elantra, as the victims called 911.

The vehicle was located on Sunday night.

No arrests have been made.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to contact police.
