Police: Man Barricaded Himself Inside Home Before Setting It On Fire

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police say a West Philadelphia man barricaded himself inside his home and then set the place on fire.

The incident happened at 62nd Street near Pine on Monday around 10:30 a.m.

Police say the couple living inside the home was having an argument when the husband grabbed a knife. He then sprayed lighter fluid all over the house and started a fire.

When police arrived on scene, the man refused to come out of the house. Officers were eventually able to Taser him and remove him from the house.

The suspect's wife and child were not injured during the incident, but much of the house was damaged by the fire.

An investigation is ongoing.
