Police: 3 Injured In 2 Separate Wilmington Shootings

WILMINGTON, Del., (CBS) – Police say three people were injured following two separate shootings Monday in Wilmington, Delaware.

At about 4:41 p.m., police say units responded to the area of 3rd and N. Harrison Street in reference to a shooting investigation. Arriving units located a 13-year-old female suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg and a 23-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to his hip area, according to police.

Police say both victims were treated on scene by medics and taken to the hospital in good condition.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation and the investigation is ongoing, according to police.

At about 5:07 p.m., police say detectives were on foot in the area of the 9th and Spruce Streets when they notified of shots being fired in the immediate area.

According to police, they located a 27-year-old male at Taylor and Kirkwood Streets suffering from gunshot wounds to the torso and lower extremity areas.

Police say the victim was treated on scene by medics and taken to the hospital where he is described as in critical condition.

The investigation is in the preliminary stages and ongoing in nature, according to police.
