Photo By Temple University Graduate Captures The Eye Of Hollywood's Ron Howard

By Mark Abrams

LANCASTER, Pa. (CBS) - A Temple University film school graduate is among eight winners of a nationwide contest soliciting photographs for production of a short film produced by Hollywood Heavyweight Ron Howard.

Twenty-five-year-old Brooke Shaden is a Lancaster County native. She grew up in Manheim Township, but moved to Los Angeles after graduating from Temple to pursue a career in film and now, fine art photography.

Shaden was among the thousands who submitted photo entries for Canon's "Imagination" project.

Shaden says her entry, "Running from Wind," was selected by Ron Howard and his team to capture one of the film's themes - time.

The photo shows two young women - Shaden and a photographer friend - running in a field in the early morning fog. Both are wearing flowing Amish-style dresses and one is carrying a lantern.

"I couldn't get us both in the same shot running how I envisioned. So, I shot myself separately and then shot her and then composited the two images together."

Shaden says her photo was influenced by her Lancaster County background.

On Monday, she will host a local showing of the finished film - "When You Find Me" – at Regal Manor Stadium 16 in Lancaster at 6:30 p.m. Guests are encouraged to RSVP to
