Phils Drop 3 of 4 at Wrigley
The Phillies' pitching staff, led by Roy Halladay(L, 10-8), was lit up for 11 runs, in a Cubs 11-6 blowout win over the Phils, in the final game of a 4 set at Wrigley field. Halladay surrendered 6 runs, 5 earned, on 7 hits, through 6 innings. The Phils bats had baserunners in 8 of 9 innings, but were 0/8 with runners in scoring position.
Ryan Howard, Greg Dobbs, and Ben Francisco all homered in the loss. Howard with homerun # 21 on the season, tieing Chuck Klein for 4th all-time on the Phils homerun list. With the loss the Phils drop to 5 1/2 games back of 1st place Atlanta who beat the Brewers 11-6. The 8 game road trip continues Monday with a 4 game set in St. Louis.
