Philly Man Charged With String Of Mostly Daycare Center Burglaries
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - An Olney man is in custody, charged with a string of burglaries at a specific type of business.
Philadelphia police say 51-year-old Michael Harris is charged with more than a dozen commercial burglaries dating back to late February.
Police say he was choosy, targeting only daycare centers in all but one case forcing his way in through a window, just taking money.
Investigators say sometimes, he came away empty handed, leaving TVs and computers untouched.
A break came after the August 12th break in at a daycare center at Roosevelt Blvd and Rising Sun. Northwest Detectives identified Harris as the suspect in that job, and in another three nights later.
On August 16th, Harris turned himself in. He's charged with 16 commercial burglaries and related offenses.
