Phillies Call Up Pitcher Ethan Martin
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Phillies have called up right handed pitcher Ethan Martin from AAA Lehigh Valley, and he will make his first career big league start on Friday night, the team announced today.
Martin will be taking Cliff Lee's spot in the rotation Friday. Lee has already missed one start with a sore neck. Martin was acquired last season from the Dodgers as part of the trade for Shane Victorino.
Martin is 11-5 with a 4.12 ERA for the Lehigh Valley IronPigs this season, with 107 strikeouts in 115 innings.
The team will make a corresponding roster move before Friday night's game to make room for Martin.
