Man killed in North Philadelphia shooting identified by police; shooter sought
Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly shot a 60-year-old man multiple times in the middle of a North Philadelphia street on Saturday night, police said.
The shooting happened near the intersection of West Huntingdon and North Chadwick Streets, according to police. Investigators found 60-year-old James Bigelow suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his torso at the intersection just after 6:30 p.m. Bigelow was brought to Temple University Hospital and pronounced dead at 6:50 p.m., according to police.
Investigators said the shooter was last seen driving away in a dark-colored SUV. However, police said the SUV was later found empty near 21st and Nedro streets.
No arrests have been made in the case. Investigators said they found at least seven spent shell casings at the scene on Saturday. Philadelphia police are offering a $20,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest or conviction in the investigation.
