Philadelphia Police Confiscate Illegal Vehicles

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia police have now seized dozens of illegal vehicles and bikes in the city.

Authorities rounded up about 60 ATVs and dirt bikes on Sunday as part of a city-wide initiative. They also made three arrests with charges including narcotics violations and eluding Philly police.

Police say these illegal riders are tearing up baseball fields, ruining parks, and injuring themselves and others in the process.

"We want to get it out there, and send a message that these ATVs are acting lawlessness. It's definitely a quality of life and as the police department we feel that when we stop these ATVs, when we confiscate them, we're saving lives," said Police Lieutenant Marc Hayes.

Police urge residents to call 9-1-1 right away if you see anyone riding these illegal vehicles and bikes on city streets.
