92-Year-Old Pedestrian Struck, Killed In Cherry Hill

CHERRY HILL, N.J. (CBS) - Police in Camden County are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian accident Thursday afternoon.

Police were called out to the Saltzman House, a senior living facility in the 1400 block of Springdale Road in Cherry Hill, at about 2:45 p.m.

Authorities say a resident, identified as 82-year-old Shirley Braverman, went to move her car out of the lot when police believe she hit the gas instead of the brake, knocking over a 92-year-old woman that was walking on the sidewalk.

The victim, identified as Rose Weber, was declared dead at the scene. Both have been residents at the Saltzman House for many years.

"Very sweet woman, loved by all the residents. It's just very tragic," said David Ross, the CEO of The Saltzman House.

Police say the elderly driver was not injured. No charges have been filed at this time.
