Outer Lanes Of Ben Franklin Parkway Close In Preparation For Papal Visit

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The outer drives of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway closed to traffic on Saturday morning.

The inner drives of the Parkway were closed Thursday from Eakins Oval to 20th Street.

Drivers wishing to enter or leave Center City via the Kelly Drive will have to do so by driving through the Fairmount section.

Motorists will not be able to access the Martin Luther King Drive from Eakins Oval or the Parkway.

Police say traffic is expected to be extremely heavy in the area.

The last of the traffic detours are scheduled to be removed by 8 p.m. Sunday, October 4th.
