New Website Helps Locals Rent Cultural Venues

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A one stop shopping web site is providing free information on renting cultural venues and facilities.

Promoters, creative organizations, artists or planners looking for unique cultural spaces to hold events now have one central web site to explore and compare, thanks to the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance and a number of other organizations.

"There are cultural organizations and artists who do not have their own space," says Alliance president Tom Kaiden. "There are also folks who do have space but, for a particular event, they need a larger space in which to perform and work. And then there are also people who have special events. It's great to have one place where you can compare all of them together and there are 140 different spaces right now in this data base."
