New Study Shows The Best Ways To Kick The Smoking Habit
by Dr. Brian McDonough
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- There is no doubt that many smokers have worked hard to kick the habit and it is undeniable that this is a very hard habit to break. Recently the government has gotten involved at both the national and state level to reduce the number of smokers and come up with helpful ways to quit. New information from the Cancer Journal has found that smokers who attempted to kick the habit using web-based smoking cessation services were almost as successful as those who use telephone quit lines. Internet interventions were more popular among younger, more highly educated, web-savvy smokers while quit line users tended to be heavier smokers who were older with less education. Internet-based smoking cessation sites have proliferated in recent years. Ultimately it doesn't matter what tool is used. The bottom line is that people need multiple options to quit.
