New Name And New Models For Chrysler

By George Polgar

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Benefiting more than any other manufacturer from the strength of the truck and SUV markets, the newly re-christened Fiat Chrysler Automobiles – shortened to FCA – is taking the opportunity to position the rest its portfolio for full-line growth.

With high-margin RAM Pickup sales soaring, and JEEP loyalty riding high with the new Cherokee and Grand Cherokee, FCA is keen on following-up the resounding approval for the latest Chrysler 200 mid-sized sedan.

A just previewed revision of the Chrysler 300 series large sedan starting at around $32,000, offers a more contemporary look with a larger front mesh grill, tasteful chrome accents, and restyled lighting front to back.

The flagship 300 C Platinum is an impressive player in the large sedan segment that at times seems doomed to extinction. For a younger demo, the 300S monochrome and black accented edition, with a sporty V6 could do the trick.

FCA is also supplementing the US fleet with new products from the far-flung FIAT empire, including an all new Italian built JEEP Renegade and the RAM ProMaster City commercial van built in a FIAT plant in Turkey.
