More Children Getting Vaccinated

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - If you are a parent of a young child you are probably well aware of all of the trips to the doctor for vaccines. Over the years the number of vaccines given to children has grown. One of the concerns in the 1990s was that not enough children were being vaccinated. Reports like the now discredited link between certain vaccines and autism and a general distrust of the medical system were to blame.

But, now, according to the US Department of Health and Human Services, the goals for longer standing recommended vaccines are being met, at least partially.

Naturally they want 100% immunization but most are over 90%. Of course as a patient you should always ask about vaccines and your physician should tell you about the pros and cons.

You are entitled to receive a print out with a full explanation as well.
