Rainy, windy Saturday ahead for Memorial Day weekend in Philadelphia area. Here's the weather forecast.
The best way to plan for your Saturday is to plan on rain. Widespread showers will move across the region through the entire day with pockets of more moderate-heavy rainfall. In addition to the rain it'll also be cool and breezy.
Temperatures will be in the low-middle 50s all day with a persistent northeast wind around 15 mph, gusting to 30 mph at times.
Winds will be even stronger closer to the Shore, gusting to 35 mph through the day.
NEXT big weather changes
The steady showers will hang around through Saturday night before beginning to let up through midday on Sunday. This will give way to mainly dry conditions Sunday afternoon allowing temperatures to make their way into the middle 60s.
A cold front will drop in from the north Sunday night into Monday morning which will bring back a small chance for a few showers through Monday morning.
As of right now, however, it looks like the rain will start to taper off through Monday afternoon as temperatures climb back into the low and middle 70s.
The region will likely end up measuring total rainfall in the 1 to 3 inches range by the end of the holiday weekend.
While not good for your weekend plans, we need it badly. Well below normal precipitation has brought a severe drought to most of the region.
The warmth really returns through the middle of next week as high temperatures jump back into the low and middle 80s. There will be a small chance for a few isolated showers Tuesday and Wednesday, but by the second half of the week the sunshine should make more of a return.
