Mayor Kenney Releases 'First 100 Days' Report

By Pat Loeb

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney has put out a report on how he's been keeping busy for the last 100 days.

Ever since Franklin Roosevelt got massive legislation passed in the first hundred days of congress after his inauguration, chief executives have been using that milestone to demonstrate their own effectiveness. Kenney is no exception, though you get the feeling he'd like to be.

"Hundred days is kind of an arbitrary thing but it is what it is," said Kenney.

The report points to concrete actions such as the inspection and repair of all the school district's boilers and ending fire station brown-outs, as well as works-in-progress, such as improving IT and business services.

"We've had a lot of serious stuff that we're dealing with, and I'm very happy with the pace of the administration at the moment," he said.

The true test, though, he says, lies ahead.
