Man Shot, Killed While Waiting For SEPTA Bus In Hunting Park

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A 55-year-old man was shot and killed in the city's Hunting Park neighborhood while waiting for a SEPTA bus to go to work, say police.
The shooting happened at 6th and Erie Avenue, just after 2:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Police say Barry Parks was waiting for the bus to arrive to go to work when a man approached him and a fight broke out. Police know that because two of the victim's co-workers who were already on the bus watched as the gunman pulled out a gun and fired at the victim at point-blank range.
The gunman took off and the bus driver then flagged down an officer
Police are trying to figure out why someone wanted the victim dead.
"We don't know the motive at this time. We don't know if this is a robbery or they were in a physical altercation for some other reason. We don't know at this time," said Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small.
"I'm hoping that whatever happened the policemen find out because we don't need that kind of thing in our community, in our neighborhood," said resident Carolyn March.
Police say the bus is equipped with cameras, so authorities are checking with SEPTA to see if they recorded anything.
