Main Line Chef, Murder Convict, Gets New Trial

A new trial has been ordered for the Main Line chef convicted of killing his business partner back in 1996.

KYW's Jim Melwert reports The Pennsylvania Superior Court says jurors who convicted Guy Sileo Jr. of first-degree murder were not properly charged and did not get needed instructions.

The court has vacated the conviction and has ordered a new trial for Sileo.

The victim, James Webb, was found dead of a bullet wound to the back of his head in his office in the General Wayne Inn in Lower Merion, on December 26th, 1996.

Prosecutors argued Sileo killed Webb to cash in on an insurance policy.

Montgomery County prosecutors can appeal the ruling to the state supreme court.
