Officials say crews were able to cap the leak Tuesday afternoon and will continue to work throughout the night to repair the broken main.

Officials tell Eyewitness News that three major water mains intersect at this location, so repairs could take some time. Public Works crews determined the water main break occurred along a 20-inch main that dates back to 1875.

Right now, Orange Street is closed from 10th to 12th Streets, while 11th Street is closed to all eastbound traffic. Public Works hopes to have the intersection reopened by 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Officials say no water customers were affected by the break.
