Kellyanne Conway Makes Grand Return To Hometown In South Jersey

NEW JERSEY (CBS) -- Kellyanne Conway, the first woman to successfully manage a presidential campaign in U.S. history, was honored in her hometown Saturday night being named the Grand Marshal of the Hammonton Fire Department Christmas Parade.

Hundreds lined the streets, as fire trucks decked out in Christmas lights, bands, and local businesses marched their way through town. Conway arrived on the first fire truck, then asked the crowd to spread holiday cheer and let the world know about the values of the people of Hammonton, NJ.

"Where the emphasis on God, and family, and friendship, and country would always be front and center."

Conway also asked the crowd to do one other thing this holiday season.

"After 8-years, I would ask you to pray for our outgoing President and Vice President. I would ask you to pray for our new President and Vice President."

She also asked everyone to keep the men and woman who keep us safe in their thoughts.

"Pray for our soldiers, our veterans, our police officers, our first responders."

Conway said she was proud to set an example for the young girls of Hammonton, and across the country.

"They can do anything and be anyone they want. I just feel blessed to have opportunities. A lot of women in this country work really hard at what they do, but I also got the opportunity."

While the crowd was heavily in her corner, there were a handfull of protesters silently holding signs at the parade.
