6-Year-Old Struck By Car In Northeast Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Officials say a 6-year-old child was hospitalized after he was struck by a vehicle in Northeast Philadelphia Friday evening.

The incident occurred at about 5:15 p.m. at Byberry Road and Depue Avenue in the Somerton section.

Police say the child was taken to Aria Health Torresdale Campus with a broken leg and multiple contusions.  He is listed in critical condition.

Authorities say the vehicle did stay on the scene.
