Houston, We Have A Problem Rooting For Hometown Favorite
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- When the Houston Texans play the Eagles tonight at the Linc, a small group of Eagles fans will be quietly rooting for Texans quarterback Matt Schaub (above), who hails from West Chester, Pa.
When the Texans first appeared on the Eagles' schedule, a bunch of West Chester natives snapped up tickets as fast as they could. After all, they've known the Texans' quarterback since they were kids.
"We played Little League basketball, football, baseball against each other, growing up," said Ryan McCabe. "He was actually my high school quarterback. And we couldn't all be any prouder for him or happier for him."
So, there is a dilemma here, but McCabe says he has a solution.
"At the end of the day, I definitely hope the Eagles win. I've been a die-hard fan since I was about seven years old, and I can't break that allegiance to the Eagles. But I am kind of hoping that Matt has a good showing in front of his hometown crowd, without a doubt."
Just not too good a showing.
