Home Video: "Girl with the Dragon Tatoo" on DVD

KYW's Bob Nelson reports that there are some rather impressive home video releases coming out.

The DVD and Blu-ray editions of the 1948 ballet classic The Red Shoes, featuring Moira Shearer, comes loaded with extras.

The Runaways, with Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning, deals with a girl group from the 1970s. The Blu-ray edition adds a band playlist.

The Losers, based on the comic book series about a bunch of CIA operatives, is out in both standard DVD and Blu-ray.  And Galaxy of Terror is the latest of the Roger Corman cult classics on home video.

But without question, the most talked-about release for the small screen is the rapid transfer to video of The Girl With The Dragon Tatoo (above), from the Steig Larsson thriller, currently the hottest film in print worldwide.  It's a Swedish language epic currently in the works for a Hollywood transfer.

The video runs two and a half hours and is tough viewing with its avalanche of English subtitles, but you won't soon forget it, no matter what the language.
